La Cala is a small un commercialised seaside town and Fuengirola a larger more bustling popular holiday destination and staying in our luxury apartment in La Cala Hills you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Ideal for family holidays with so much to do and see. Surrounded by premier golf courses, 7 in fact, La Cala Hills is a prime location for golfers as well with well over 30 golf courses in easy reach of the apartment and as many as a dozen within 5 or 10 minutes drive!

All about La Cala
La Cala Hills is about 25 minutes journey from Malaga Airport along the main coast road N340 passing the resort towns of Torremolinos, Benalmadena and then finally Fuengirola. Our apartment in La Cala Hills overlooks the town of La Cala and is not far from Mijas village and 6 or 7 championship golf courses in the immediate area. Just a few minutes drive down the hillside will take you into lively Fuengirola town and beaches fantastic shops cafe's, pubs and restaurants. An amazing Agua park and loads to see and do. For a quieter location La Cala offers more traditional Spanish hospitality in less commercialised surroundings and a long and un-fussy relaxing beach.

La Cala De Mijas as it is called locally is a peaceful panoramic bay, originally a fishing village before tourism and has several cherrenguitos (beach restaurants) along its shoreline, serving the fresh catch of the day and paella's, wonderful fresh salads and traditional coastal fare and they also include menu's for those who prefer meat and pasta dishes. Many great restaurants in the town including 5 star to typical Spanish & Pub Grub.

So much to see and do in and around La Cala!
The Hipodromo a few minutes up the mountain and a fabulous night out for all the family, restaurants, Irish Pub, Live bands, Live shows all for a couple of euros entrance fee with free parking!

Also There is Fuegirola Zoo - both about 15 mins. drive.

Horse Racing Nights, and equestrian facilities, riding lessons and much more at the Hipodromo in the mountains of La Cala

Tivoli World Benalmadena ( 25 mins. drive)
Fairground theme park - Entrance fee for all
classes is €4.50 Euros. For this fee you have access to the gardens, numerous bars and restaurants and free shows. You buy a ticket for aprox $10.00 Euro. The 'Supertivolino', this gives you unlimited access to more than 30 rides or you can purchase any amount of single tickets. Some rides have age and height restrictions for safety reasons. There is also the Telecabina a breathtaking cable car ride down the mountain with stunning views of the coast.
Also in Benalmadena is the
Selwo Marina Dolphinarium and the Sealife Centre which has the biggest shark collection in Europe!

The Joys of Fuengirola!
Just over 5 minutes drive down the hill gets you there, you can book sea fishing, dolphin spotting trips, paracending, jet skiing. You can eat anything from pies and mushy peas to paella's with a cuppa, or jug of sangria to wash it down. Great shops, and beaches. A bustling town by night and by day!

La Cala Market day's
The market comes to town on Wednesday's and Saturdays, behind the town square it's a real occasion and has great bargains, fresh fruit, flowers, pottery, shoes and dozens of stalls selling anything from music to jewellery. Do not miss market day!
On the same plot of land events are frequently held like the Feria (travelling fair) or the circus, stock car racing and many other public events.

La Cala
Often described as the jewel in the crown of the Costa Del sol, not only an historic and unspoilt small town, but an ideal holiday location for all the family.
Surrounded by championship golf courses, La Cala and Mijas, both boasting 36 holes. The fantastic Santana and Cala Nova golf clubs and the new 9 hole La Noria, all within about 2 K's!
